Spirit Days
New Vista School has Spirit Days throughout the school year. Spirit Days are student-sponsored days that reflect a certain fun theme, games, music, and contests. Past Spirit Days have included 1950’s Day, Sports Jersey Day, and Ugly Sweater Day. Spirit Days are developed in conjunction with the Student Leadership Team. This is another opportunity for students to generalize their social skills, and use their imaginations. Activities happen during the day that relate to the theme of the day, and then after school, there is a dance, games and contests, all generated through the social skills program and the participation of the students.
Students enjoyed dressing up in vintage clothing reflective of the Roaring 20’s dappers and flappers. Teachers and students danced to 20’s music and had sparkling cider and finger foods. Spirit days are planned by Student Leadership Team (SLT) and provide the opportunity for our students to practice their socials skills while having fun.
